USA – SSAE 16USA’s related regulation is SSAE 16. SSAE 16 effectively replaces SAS 70 as the authoritative guidance for reporting on service organizations. SSAE 16 was formally issued in April 2010. Canada – Section 5970Canada’s related regulation is Section 5970. It based on the US SAS 70. Section 5970 was released by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2004. Germany – IDW PS 951Germany’s related regulation is IDW PS 951. It is similar to SAS 70 Type II. IDW PS 951 is released by Institut der Wirtschaftsprufer. India – AAS 24India’s related regulation is AAS 24. This regulation (Audit and Assurance Standards 24: Audit Consideration Relating to Entities Using Service Organizations) is issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and is operative for all audits relating to periods beginning on or after 2003. Japan – ASCR 18Japan’s related regulation is ASCR 18. Based on the US SAS 70. ASCR 18 was released for Japanese organizations. United Kingdom – AAF 01/06United Kingdom’s related regulation is AAF 01/06. This regulation (Assurance reports on internal controls of service organisations made available to third parties) is maintained by the the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the UK, since its inception in 2006. International – ISAE 3402An international related regulation is ISAE 3402. This International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402 deals with assurance engagements undertaken by professional accountants in public practices.
